Jam-packed with a high antioxidant potency, vitamin C, vitamin B6, magnesium, folate, potassium, thiamine, copper and manganese; Pineapples are great!
I use to eat them daily when I was in my first trimester of pregnancy for the folate - as it's suppose to be really good for spinal development in the first stages of the embryos life. Well, my son was lifting his own neck straight out of the womb and even the 20 week sonogram lady kept voicing "what a nice spine" my son had. So I guess it worked.

Like most produce, pineapples are best eaten fresh to capitalise on all the nutrients, however, most of the important minerals and antioxidants will be present in fresh frozen or canned pineapple. Choose products packed in 100 percent juice, and be sure to use the juice to obtain all the water-soluble nutrients.*
